I have been doing more research on these 'elementalists'. I have had to dig deeply, to the far, far past. Farther than I have ever gone before.
It is actually good for me, as I have been learning much and many of my views have been corrected.
Forgive me for straying off-topic. Elementalists... ah, these were the strangest stories. There are many mentions of some, such as 'Rain-Summoners', or 'Wind-Bringers'. This is the clearest sample I could find that references their powers, kept in its original spellings, etc:

Name: Perryn Rain-Summonere
Age: 23
Occupation: Rain Summoning, for use in Droughts
Spouse: N/A
Source: census, Pyrillia, 1143
Points of interest:
"For use in droughts". I'm not certain, but this could mean that 'rain-summoning' had adverse effects.
"Spouse: N/A". I have yet to see another document that documents a person's marital status as 'not applicable.' This leads me to believe that these 'summoners' were considered off the market, so to speak. That or they married the untouchables of the society, though in all fairness they are still one of my theories as well.
"Name: Perryn Rain-Summonere". His name was listed out of order in the alphebetical codex. I honestly have no idea what this means, except if it was a strange mistake. It wouldn't seem to be, however, as census-taking was quite meticulous, if the manuscripts I have found that document them are to be believed. Before: Karyna Ice-keeper; After: Larin Marksman. The names were alphabetized by first name. No other such mistakes have been found.
I hope strongly that I may find more documents of this clarity and relevance. Until then, however, this is my best resource. Until I can get into the Archives at Mirelan, I don't think I'll have much more information on the topic.
