Elementals: the most sketchy and strange of all the legends I have collected. Of course, it is my job to collect legends, and they are always strange and different depending on the speaker, but. . . well, you will see.

In a time long ago, there was a rumor, a rumor of strange beings. Elementals. These - things - embodied a single element, such as fire or lightning. Some legends state stranger things, more abstract, such as growth. These things could kill, yet could not be felt or heard.
And stranger still were the tales of the people who could control them.
Tales from long ago, legends, even then.
Of a people, whose very minds controlled things. They could summon wind, lightning-
and sometimes, by some accounts, elementals.
Some said they were evil. Others said the opposite.
But one strange fact remains:

But one strange fact remains:
Larralli, the Rain-summoner, held her arms up, anger rising as the man Leido shouted at her. A crack of thunder was heard nearby, and all saw the flash of lightning strike Leido's abode.
Then, as Larralli's anger rose, something shaped in front of her, which she did not notice through her anger. A shimmer, nothing more, but somehow with substance and form. Then, seconds later, it rose into the air and sent twin lightning bolts at the arguing two.
They both fell still, deadly still.
The shimmer disappeared as soon as Larralli died.
This text- translated, of course, from Lailien script- shows two rather interesting facts: The summoners could be killed by the summoned elementals. And they could summon other things.
The elemental was obviously lightning. But the lightning beforehand- the bolt that struck Leido's house- intrigues me. Did it summon the creature? Did it come from the creature? Did Larralli summon both? How?
The most intriguing part of this, I believe, is that the creature went away after her death. This would mean, logically, that she summoned it. Yet still there are many possibilities; one cannot make too hasty of decisions.
The text before this excerpt informed me of another interesting fact: there were several in each village, and they had specific duties. As a Rain-summoner, Larralli would be responsible to summon enough rain for crops to grow.
I intend to find out more on those who I have named 'elementalists'. I will try to find the truth of these people- or faeries, before it is gone.
For legends are easily forgotten.
