Still Ivy could not hear...
Dawn sat on a chair on a cobblestone porch, looking over a village by a castle. A maid spoke to her, but Dawn said something in return and she left.
Calypso appeared next to her. She said something, and put a hand on Dawn's shoulder. Dawn answered, and Calypso voiced something unheard to Ivy. Dawn yelled, but she was unperturbed and answered calmly. She put the bag in Dawn's hands. Ivy knew it was useless, but couldn't stop herself from yelling, "It's a trap!"
Ivy followed, unsubstantial, as Dawn went down to the village. She floated over the brick bridge that led to the village.
Dawn said something to herself, and threw the sack into the dried river bed. She took off her cloak, showing her normal archers' clothes underneath, and ran into the village.
She approached the gate and slowed down. There was a little girl standing there in a dirty torn dress, saying something. The girl's eyes lit up but faded quickly after Dawn spoke. She answered, and Ivy could tell it was something sad. Dawn gathered the people together and said something to them. She made trees grow and rebuilt the place, going back to the castle where Calypso resided just before the sun went down.
She never saw how Calypso threw an enchanted burning piece of straw into the village square. She never knew the spell enchanting the castle. She never knew... but Ivy saw it all.
Dawn walked in the doors and everything was dark. A torch lit in the middle of the room. Calypso stood there. She opened her mouth, probably saying something, and Dawn answered, most likely yelling. Calypso opened the doors and showed Dawn the burning village. Dawn cried and cried, and Calypso said something that Ivy could hear:
“Dawn, when you plan on helping someone, don't. They will always turn on you no matter what. Look what you did for those people and now look at their village. Burned to the ground. All because YOU helped them and trusted them. Trust and help and love and truth are all evil and should be locked away and forgotten. Remember that and you might survive.” The words echoed in her ears.
Ivy saw as Dawn's eyes grew cold, and felt the tears well up in her own eyes.
Dawn was Empty...
